Sleep Is Overrated At This Point In The Cycle

Sleep is something that’s evasive at this point but it’s just a side effect consistent with where I am after treatment. It’s almost midnight and I am up typing away on the computer. I was tired and asleep at about 8 tonight but then awake at 10:30 and might be up for a while. As I think back to what past Tuesday nights are like this is definitely routine.  Unfortunately. There was one night before Christmas that I was awake the whole night. I’m sure a result of thinking of things to get done. I have nothing to get done tonight. I am waking up at 4:20 to go walk and get back moving again. Hopefully, I will sleep first.

There Are So Many Variables With The Side Effects

I feel a little nauseous tonight and have today a little bit. It may be because I have done my medicine a little differently or maybe I’m just noticing and didn’t have that in my mental notes from past treatments. I have the metal taste in my mouth but I think it’s better than yesterday. So many unknowns but I’ve been working on noticing patterns. Hopefully, I won’t be doing this much longer so the patterns may not matter but it helps my brain to try to organize, expect, and be aware of the side effects each time.  It helps to compare so I know when I can expect to feel the fog lift.

The Kindness Of Others

People are truly kind. This week dinners have been brought in 3 nights. Two of those nights by acquaintances who I don’t know well. How cool is that? I am touched by the kindness of others. People have been so selfless.

The Whole Goal Of The Race Is To Get, And Keep, Moving

The race is getting close and very exciting. We have almost 500 participants at this point. People are doing training runs along the race route to get ready. It’s really exciting to think that 6 months ago this wasn’t even a thought and then 5 women got together and put on a real race.  This is serious.

I have been thinking about what I will say to everyone at the start of the race. I have some ideas but I just ask that everyone keep moving. So many of you have worked hard to get to the start of this race. Keep going. Next year you will be so ahead of the game by having continued to exercise for the whole year. There is a  half marathon in Debary in March you could sign up for. What a great goal that would be. Give it some thought. There will be a booth at the ME STRONG 5K about the half marathon. Talk to the West Volusia Runners if you are interested. They are a great group of people and will be able to help you train.
