Yankees vs Red Sox Weekend

I haven’t had much to write about recently with regard to updates about what’s going on with my health because there really is nothing. I will know more late Wednesday and will update then. Many of you know that we were in Boston this past weekend for the Sox/Yankees series. Sean and his brother planned a weekend for the two families. We were also able to see my family on Thursday which was great. Had dinner with my parents and brother and his family. Sean’s Dad and Lorraine met us at the game and had a special surprise visit from the Grissons before the game.

“The Strain Is In The Strength” Can I Get An Amen!

I was reading Kristin Armstrong’s blog this morning. For those of you who aren’t familiar with her, she is Lance Armstrong’s ex-wife which I’m sure she would rather not be defined as because she appears to lead a very full and happy life filled with family, friends, running, and her faith. I do think it’s funny, she calls Lance her “wasband”. Anyway, she wrote about running in the heat and how difficult it has been this summer. At the end of her blog she had the following quote by Oswald Chambers:

I read it more than once and let it sink in.  It spoke to me this morning and I hope it does to you. We all have struggles that we are facing.   None are more or less important than anyone else’s but it’s how we handle them that’s important.

Accepting God’s Will On My Cancer Journey

I have told many of you that the love and support have been overwhelming. I truly feel blessed by everyone’s support. The prayers, notes, cards, comments, calls, presents, goodies, wow! I haven’t been as prayerful as I have been in the past or at other times in my life. I’m a little overwhelmed with what to pray for. I accept that my cancer is God’s will and don’t question it. I know that He will guide me through this and be at my side the entire journey so I’m not sure what to ask him for. I feel good. I feel strong. I’m not scared and I truly feel that God his giving me the strength to do this. Having said that I also think that because so many people are praying I feel comforted by that.
